Our Mediterranean adventure began in Venice, where canals replaced roads and centuries of history appeared around every corner. Arriving by private water taxi gave us an unforgettable introduction to a city best experienced slowly—from its grand waterways and ornate architecture to its quiet lanes and evenings beside the water.
The journey
After landing in Venice, everything about travel suddenly changed. Roads disappeared, boats replaced cars, and our private water taxi became the first chapter of an adventure we had dreamed about for months.
As we cruised through the canals toward our hotel, historic buildings rose directly from the water and gondolas quietly passed beneath centuries-old bridges. Within minutes, we realized Venice wasn't simply another city—it was an experience unlike anywhere else in the world.

Some of our favorite memories came without an itinerary. We wandered through quiet alleyways, crossed countless bridges, and discovered charming canals where very few tourists seemed to venture.
Every turn revealed another postcard view. Small cafés, colorful buildings, flower-filled balconies, and peaceful canals reminded us that Venice rewards those willing to slow down and simply explore.

Our evenings quickly became our favorite part of Venice. Sitting outside along the canals, enjoying incredible Italian food while gondolas quietly drifted past, created memories that photographs could never fully capture.
It wasn't just the scenery that made Venice special. It was sharing those moments together—the conversations, the laughter, and the realization that this incredible journey was only beginning.

Venice rewarded us whenever we remembered to look up. Beyond the canals were graceful courtyards, richly decorated interiors, weathered facades, and architectural details shaped by generations of artists and craftspeople.
That contrast became part of the city's magic: a quiet brick alley could open into an elegant square, while an unassuming doorway could reveal a room glowing with color and gold. Venice felt less like a collection of landmarks and more like one continuous work of art.
